CELEBRATION

Looking back over the history of this little event, there are so many unique features and too many to list.  Just for the curious, the Fresno Invitational, as it was called in the beginning, was held at the Hacienda Hotel and home to the Crazy Horse Saloon Dancers 1985 thru 1987.  In 1988, the event moved to the beautiful Holiday Inn (that became the Radisson that became the Double Tree By Hilton) and became known as the Country Dance Classic.  In 1996 – the “Z” began to take center stage in theme titles. In 1998, the name changed again to the Fresno Dance Classic - to appeal to other forms of dance, too.  In 1999, the Radisson Hotel Chain purchased the Holiday Inn and spent a fortune on improvements.  In 2000 – the name change that became famous when the spelling of Fresno was officially changed to FreZno. In 2016, the hotel would become a nicely remodeled DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel serving those warm chocolate chip cookies at your arrival.  In this our 35th year of production, we offer this look back at our evolution through the years.
